101 Things Every Detroiter Must Do

The August issue of Hour Detroit magazine lists “101 Things Every Detroiter Must Do.” There are plenty of basics (attending professional sporting events, visiting the Detroit Institute of Arts, dining in Mexicantown or Greektown) but there are also quite a few lesser known restaurants, bars, festivals, museums, etc., (Dally in the Alley Festival, Motown Historial Museum, Baker’s Keyboard Lounge.)

I could go on and on, and I know I’ve bitten off more than I can chew here, but…maybe you should just get the magazine. Lots of fun suggestions all by category (shopping, food, play, explore, art, music, family) and it covers about four different counties in the area. On my initial count, I’ve only hit a little over half. Better get to work.

Oh, and send Hour Detroit a picture of you doing one of the things on the list — you might make it into the next issue. (101Things@hourdetroit.com)
