Time to dust off the blogger keyboard and crack the knuckles.

I’ve been really looking forward to this venture. Not only do I get to write about my city – in which I work, live and learn – but I get to do it with some solid writers and good friends. We’ll be sure to make common paths and clash heads, mistake opinions for facts, enrage while enlightening… and all the while, insisting that we each have the cure for what ails our city.

We’re probably all right.

Why? Because we’re all in the distinct minority that cares enough to speak up and get involved.

For too long, this city has suffered smirking fools and dumb-assed separatists from the suburbs. At the same time, Detroit has sunken under the weight of corruption and indignation from within. The one thing all these people had in common was their disdain for the other. It has to change.

And if we have anything to say about it, it will.
