Read Detroit
This is where I spend the majority of my time, when I’m not stuck in traffic on 94, the Leonard N. Simons Building – home of the Wayne State University Press. Detroit does not have the large publishing presence of other major cities. Therefore, a lot of our talented authors and publishers migrate to New York, Chicago, or Boston. We just said goodbye to one such. I wish him all the best in NYC. Publishing books about our city is important and I am lucky to be in the present presence of talented authors and photographers. I hope they will be the ones to give Detroit the publishing base it needs.
