Sunday in the parks
Another beautiful weekend day. I seem to have finally beaten whatever was making me ill the past two days, so I am off to play two-hand tackle football in Clark Park. Then I’ll shoot up to Royal Oak for petanque with the Michigan Petanque Club. (There is a tournament coming up soon here in Detroit. More details later)
Detroit is the ultimate sports town. Between all the pro teams, there are hundreds of rec and social leagues of all sports. Right now, I play soccer, football and petanque all in the same weekend. Now the issue isn’t fitting them all in, it is not damaging the knee repair I had just over a year ago. Being immobilized in Detroit is not something I recommend.
