You have to admit, it’s a little funny. It reminds me of the “Welcome to New York – Now Get Out!” and it has a handgun (pointed at you).

Maybe we should all wear Pro-Detroit advertisement T-Shirts…

“Detroit – The Good Times City”
“Detroit – Because Life is Too Short to Worry”
    “Detroit – 30%-NYC 50%-Chicago 20%-Whoopass”

What an awful t-shirt. People are mean.

    I like Jeppy’s idea of wearing pro-Detroit shirts : )

We have some some nice shirt designs that are positive representations of our city- ask us about them. Check detroitbazaar@blogspot.com for more information, we also have a myspace profile. We aren’t here to sell anything by the way. We’re here to share friendship, good vibes, and encourage positive change within the city that captures our hearts!

unless you’re robocop, you’re not gonna wear them in the city, you’re gonna rock that crap in the suburbs.

Are you really afraid of Canadians?

  9. john (unregistered) on November 17th, 2005 @ 4:45 pm

we’re not xenophobes, and we’re not sure exactly what the shirt means…everyone has their own interpretation. (some think it’s pro-canadian..saying that they’re the stronger people)

    the background:
the shirt was designed by a canadian, who’s married to a canadian (she hates the shirt) In the detroit metro-area, it seems like we all have a candian friend, and our gatherings always end up with good-natured ribbing about the better culture. it’s kind of a tongue-in-cheek joke pointing to the idiocy of biases and racism…but we’ve found it really gets under the skins of canadians….must be the upside down maple leaf.

I was initially a little put off by the “I’m afraid of Canadians” t-shirt. We’re always a little skeptical about anything that implies inferiority to the U.S. I really kind of like being seen as a scary intimidating people :0)

    Thanks for the background.

I got a t-shirt from Arts,Beats, and Eats that was a butterfly with Detroit on it. I thought it was from a company called Detroit Manufacturing or something like that. I can’t find them on the web anywhere. Anyone have any ideas where I could find that shirt or that company?
