Le Petit Prince

Looking for a quality french patissiere in the Metro Detroit area? Have you tried Le Petit Prince in Birmingham? If no, well then, you should. (And for you die-hard Detroiters, it is well worth crossing 8 Mile)

Marcel and Yvette Didierjean create wonderful pastries, breads and chocolates. Stepping into the shop, you are overwhelmed by the many choices and warmly welcomed.

I’ve tried many of their goodies and I must confess, I am hooked. I can’t even name a favorite yet as they are all so good.

Le Petit Prince is located on 14 Mile and Pierce in Birmingham. Look for the red awning.

124 W 14 Mile Rd , Birmingham

In the interest of full disclosure and because either Urban Tiki or Jeff or both will point this out, I am dating one of the Didierjean sons.

ONE of the Didierjean sons? I thought ALL THREE!!!

I was wondering if it was possible for you to bring a large knapsack next time you’re there, and when Macel wasn’t looking, slip a few dozen different items from the shop into it, and drop it off at my house!

Err.. no. Next time you are at MPC, why not just leave a bit earlier and stop by Le Petit Prince? It isn’t that far from the piste!

Just did a tasting of croissants from 4 different Birmingham Patisseries. Le Petit Prince was the winner! (Charlie’s was a close second.)
