Ice Rink being constructed at Campus Martius Park
While tossing my boules at Campus Martius Park, I watched as work crews fitted huge styrofoam blocks into the North lawn like a gigantic white puzzle. This is the intial foundation for what will be the Winter ice skating rink at the park. Next will come the side walls, and the various rubber mats for the skate renters to amble across. I don’t skate (I’m afraid of falling) – but I think it’s the law in Michigan that you’re supposed to know how to skate (with a hockey stick) by age 4. I’m happy to see Detroit continues these “new” traditions. There’s also a tree lighting ceremony in the park coming up. Check out the Campus Martius Park website for more info.
They took down our beloved webcam too, or maybe it fell…
I just hope they clean off that speck of dirt on the lens, its been there for like a year almost.
