Attack of the Giant Pumpkins!!!!

Pumpkin.JPG

There’s pumpkins, and then there’s PUMPKINS. This morning (6am) at the Detroit Eastern Market, they’re forklifting in these big boys… I’m not exactly sure how anyone is going to get them home – but i guess that’s why people own pickup trucks (for giant pumpkin hauling and trash-picking).

I’m going to be carving my own (much smaller) variety this week. Perhaps we should have a pumpkin carving display on the Metblogs ( rest assured, I’ll keep my carvings PC ).

I love scooping out the innards, the scent is both nauseating and yet somehow soothing in the memory of all the Halloweens previous. Plus, roasting pumpkin seeds is a no brainer treat.

I love pumpkin-carving and baking the pumpkin seeds, too! I actually found a new pumpkin seed recipe this year called Sweet and Spicy Pumpkin Seeds, and I cannot wait to try it out. Of course, I’ll be making a batch of just salted ones, too : )

Sweet and Spicy?! Hey, Ante up that recipe… I’m tired of the same ol’ pumpkin seed taste.
