Wayne State alum on daytime
I’ll admit it — I love ABC’s “All My Children.” My older sister got me hooked on it when I was a kid and from there, well…I make sure my lunch breaks are 1-2 pm, I schedule classes around the show, I even read the message boards.
Anyway.
Zach Slater, mysterious casino owner and brave hero to all Pine Valley women in danger (and there are many) is played by Thorsten Kaye. Kaye attended Wayne State, earning a master’s degree in theatre/theatre history and later joined the Hillberry Repertory Theatre Company.
Just a fun bit of trivia for those into daytime soaps. I know you’re out there.
MMMM.. I need to change my masters program.
PS. I got hooked on AMC last fall when I was laid up after knee surgery.
I’m so happy someone else recognizes sheer BRILLIANCE (okay, that may have been over the top).
So you will send me an email when Kendall and Zach finally admit they have feelings for each other? That show is such a lovely guilty pleasure…
I’m VERY afraid!
I will. It’s about time Kendall finds someone to love her. Now I’ll shut up before I turn this into an AMC message board.
Aw, come on, Jeppy. I’m sure you’d love it if you gave it a chance.
Well, actually (between you and me (and the 45,000 viewers of this site)) I did watch a soap opera for a few weeks… the storyline being that this woman fell into a coma so deep that they were going to bury her – alive! But the man whom she loved was at the funeral home viewing the “body” and she let out a tear…
Okay Okay, so YES, yes yes I did watch a little soap opera at one time… but I haven’t since, I swear it!
Now THAT is great daytime television!
You can tell that he means business by his turtleneck sweater and turned up collar.
Jeppy, was that Days of our Lives 9 years ago when they burried Bo’s wife?
Mollika: WOW, you have quite a memory. I think you’re correct! As I recall, she had the easy part, doing this weepy voice-over while people viewed her corpse…
I watch AMC every once in a while on the Soap Channel, but my real love (and one of my only vices, so I’ve been told) is General Hospital! My mom used to videotape it every day (along with Days) and then my sister and I would watch it with her after she came home from work. I think we started this in, like, 5th grade or something. Anyway, I still tape it every day and it is my stress-reliever after work : )
Regarding the Bo burying Hope alive thing, it could have been that episode from 9 years ago, but if you’re a soap person, you know that being buried alive, having multiple personalities, finding out about long-lost children/brothers/sisters, and coming back from the dead are practically weekly occurrences, so it could have been any number of characters or soaps : )
