Dia de Muertos

Hundreds of people filtered into Mexicantown in Southwest Detroit today for Dia de Muertos, the area’s 11th annual Day of the Dead celebration. If you didn’t make it over to the party today, don’t worry – there’s still time. The event continues tomorrow from 9 am – 7 pm.

Many Mexicantown businesses participate in Dia de Muertos, which features fun activities for the entire family, and traditional Dia de Muertos elements, such as sugar skulls and pan de muerto, also known as bread of the dead.
