Detroit Docs Film Fest
I just got home from the Detroit Docs Film Fest’s Opening party. Unlike last year, this was a smaller, invitation-only party at the Scarab Club. I kind of missed the mixed crowd of students, film lovers and whoever from last year.
This year’s Career Achievement Award winner is Sue Marx, an Academy Award winning local film maker. A retrospective of her films will screen on Sunday at 3pm at the Birmingham 8.
The student films will be screening at the same time on Sunday at the College of Creative Studies.
There is something for everyone at this year’s Detroit Docs!
Yay! Thanks MGAL for filling us in on the goings on with Detroit Docs… I’m definitely going to see some of the films over at C.C.S.
I recall a meeting of the alliance Fraincaise at the Scarab Club a year or so ago, it was praising a French director. We were invited by some friends, but didn’t realize that the retrospective was entirely in French (FAST French at that!)
Our French was too weak to comprehend anything beyond the basics!
