Brooks and Kwame, best of friends

In today’s Oakland Press, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson said that he will work with Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick during his second term if he can get “more focused” and “more constructive.” Quite a conflicted past with these two: arguments about drug use in Oakland County schools, financial problems of the Detroit Zoo, Cobo expansion and many others. Patterson says he will take a “wait-and-see” approach with Kilpatrick.

For the sake of the region, I hope these two can put aside their differences and meet halfway. I just don’t think it will happen.
