History of war

Today is Veteran’s Day. Have you thanked a veteran lately?

Whether you agree with war or not, these guys and gals are just doing their jobs. A job most of us don’t want to do. For that, they deserve your thanks.

And yes, I do think we should bring our soldiers home, but not at the risk of their or innocent people’s safety. And no, I’ve never supported the war in Iraq but I support our soldiers.

In Canada we call today Remembrance Day. I do not recall seeing a single poppy pin this year, in the time leading up to and including today, which I find a little disturbing.

I saw a bunch of poppies over the weekend and this past week. The Canadian version is much nicer looking than the American, but I do love my paper red poppy. Half the time I put them in my hair to the delight and amusement of the veterans.

Gee MGAL, when I wear the red paper poppy in MY hair, hardly anyone is amused… I guess I should stop doing that at work.
