Where is Frosty?

I still can’t believe that Detroit hasn’t had snow yet this season.

Here we are, nearly halfway through November, and there is no sign of snow. After the beautiful weather this weekend, I am beginning to wonder if we’ll get snow at all this winter (a girl can dream, can’t she?).

Growing up in this area my entire life, I am keenly aware of the unpredictability of Michigan weather. A sunny, 70-degree day can quickly morph into a cold, 32 degrees within a matter of 24 hours; and, strangely, few people are shocked by this.

Although it hasn’t happened yet this season, we all know its coming – snow is as much a part of Detroit and its surrounding communities as “pop” and “tennis shoes”.

When will Frosty finally grace us with his presence? My prediction – no doubt an optimistic one – is December 20.

What do you think?

For the sake of all of our heating bills, I hope to god the cold stays away as long as possible. I would prefer that this winter the temp did not drop below 55 degrees. Hey, a girl can hope!
