GO!

Okay so you may need a few more details but you really should check it out. America’s Thanksgiving Parade began in 1924 with four adult bands, three high-school bands and four paper-mache heads. It has come a long way since then but is still just as enjoyable.

The parade will start at the Cultural Center and follow Woodward to Grand Circus Park. Step-off is at 10am but you should plan to get to your viewing spot at least an hour early. Dress warm and bring some cocoa to ward off the chill.

And remember, this is a time when the oldest adult can be as thrilled as a child by a balloon or float. Parades are one of the few ageless wonders we have. Laugh, smile and enjoy the company of those around you….
