Positive Detroit Propaganda Event

Create%20Detroit%201.JPG

Friday evening (7 pm) in the grand concourse of the historic Fisher building will be the 2005 Detroit Graphic Exposition. The purpose of this glamorous event is to present positive images of Detroit through posters created by Detroit designers.

The project takes its inspiration from the European Avant-Garde and Constructivist movements where graphic art was used as a powerful medium for propagating positive social ideas, encouraging citizens to uphold the moral code and civic ideals of society.

Each poster will be sold with proceeds benefiting the artists and the not-for-profit CreateDetroit. Why not check out the CreateDetroit website, get your tickets and mingle with people who wish to create a positive image of Detroit, and those who have an important stake in Detroit

I’m going tonight, so I’ll report on the whole thing this weekend.

There’s networking opportunities for artists, and lots of food (the best part).

There’s always next year to enter your work. Get started!
