Brrr…

Bundle up today, folks. It is mighty chilly out there. Days like this make we wish I had a car-starter, although I don’t even know if it would work because my building is so far from my parking spot. Do any of you have one and is it really worth it?

I’ve been told by my dealership that I can’t get one because of something having to do with my auto’s electrical system. I know my sister wants one, though, because, unlike me, she doesn’t have overhead parking; she says it’s a pain to scrape off the frost and ice that build up overnight.

    Remote Starter and Ice Scraper?

I thought that was MY job… at least my wife Denise has me for that service!

I have a remote starter and it’s the bomb. (Do people still say that?) If you can’t actually start your car while you’re inside, you can still fire it up as you’re walking to your car. Even if it’s only running for a minute or so, as long as you have your heat blasting it’ll help a lot with the ice — most of the time the ice on my windshield slides right off.

And you’ll be surprised how far the car start frequency goes, especially if you do the press-it-on-the-bottom-of-your-chin trick.

And it’s just as nice in the summer, getting the A/C going to avoid that blast of hot air when you open your car door.

i can vouch for the “press-it-on-the-bottom-of-your-chin trick”

Press It On The Bottom Of Your Chin?

Heck, and all these years I’ve been putting the “auto-unlock” INSIDE MY MOUTH and pressing it…
