Currie, Deering to get recounts, too

Jackie Currie and Jai-Lee Deering were both granted recount requests in their respective November 8 political races yesterday by the Wayne County Board of Canvassers.

Currie, who lost re-election to a fourth term as Detroit City Clerk, and Deering, who ran and lost the race for a spot on the Detroit City Council, join Freman Hendrix and Mary Faust Hammons in the recount arena. The two aforementioned were granted recount requests by the Board last week.

All ballots will be counted together beginning tomorrow or Friday. There is a 30-day time limit for the recounts.

If Currie could count in the first place we wouldn’t have a need for this.
