Plymouth International Ice Sculpture Spectacular

I really like ice sculptures. The ones in front of the DIA on “Noel Night” were pretty cool (especially this horse). But if you want ice sculptures on a grand scale, make sure you attend the Plymouth International Ice Sculpture Spectacular January 16-22.

For over twenty years, the event has attracted over 12,000,000 people with competitions, exhibitions and demonstrations from professional, amateur and student participants (go here to check out the 2005 winners). Other highlights include light shows, a “Fantasyland” for children and lots of hot food and beverages to keep you warm. I try to go every year, so maybe I’ll see you there. Frostbite will have probably taken some fingers and toes, but I’ll be there.

Without a doubt! And now that they’re using colored dye… the sculptures REALLY stand out!
