A little upset, Detroit?

So Detroit has expressed their dissatisfaction with the WDET changes. Rumor is death threats have been sent to the station manager. Okay, I hate the changes as much as you (maybe not, I am thrilled Judy Adams is gone) but a death threat over radio station program? A little extreme.

The best way to show your dissatisfaction with the changes is to stop listening and donating at pledge drives. Apparently that is what happened after the last programming changes in 2004. Listeners unhappy with the switch to more local programs stopped listening and pledging. Think about how much WDET missed the pledge target by this last round?

Au Contraire: I think we should call in during pledge time, tell them what we’ve pledged in the past, and then let them know exactly why we’re NOT pledging this year. Then, they’ll know specifically why their donations are down that year.

A death threat? I’ve always thought that WDET listeners were far too cultivated to consider something that extreme.

    I second Horatio’s comment.
