Because That’s Where The Money Is…

Early last night (4am) in Eastpointe, men in a stolen tow-truck, smashed through the windows of a Walgreens on 8-mile, fastened a chain around a defenseless ATM machine and pulled it from the store, dragging it along for a few blocks before the truck broke down and the thieves had to abandon the whole caper – driving off in a 2nd vehicle. The ATM was recovered without any money stolen.

Detective Borowsky of Eastpointe, assigned to the case, mentioned that a surveillance camera for the store shows cars going by at the time of the theft, so he’s hoping somebody saw something.

“Ummmm yeah Detective, I did notice two guys smashing through the Walgreens front doors with their tow truck, wrapping a heavy chain around the ATM inside, and then drag it out on to 8-mile… but heck, I just thought they were making a withdrawal…”
