how NOT to help the Detroit…

i hardly ever read the MetroTimes, but every now and then Google alerts sends me an article from them, so i went and read it… check out their opening line:

“News Hits donned its spiffiest bulletproof vest last Thursday evening and headed over to Detroit Breakfast House & Grill on Woodward Avenue…”

i understand it’s tongue-in-cheek, but i was really offended by the line… sounds to me like these people don’t spend much time in downtown Detroit at all… but don’t they have an office near Greektown??? it is hard for to me think a publication is really interested in helping the city when they give ignorant comments like these… while i wasn’t short on any reasons, this is another reason not to read the MetroTimes…

The comment had to do with media meeting up with Kwame who is openly hostile to media. Maybe not the best term to use… but not written as a reflection that Detroit is dangerous, just media/Kwame in the same room.

about as good as or worse than the headline you wrote about regarding the old folks dancing at halftime SBXL!
