Prep work..

Driving to the airport last night, we noticed the highway light signs stated “People Mover serves Downtown Detroit”, even on the sign closest to the airport going west. Problem is – to ride the People Mover, you need to be Downtown Detroit already.

This morning, I noticed one of the signs mentioned a shuttle service from the Zoo to downtown for all events. That’s a good idea since parking will be entertaining to say the least. I doubt I’ll do any driving that weekend if I can help it, since I live right outside Greektown (aka one area that will be hopping for sure).

Did they put schedules in the bus shelters downtown yet? The last time I took the bus downtown, I was out on the sidewalk at 10pm, staring at 4 bus shelters with no bus numbers or schedules on them, and not another person in sight. Not that they would want anyone to take the bus. A visitor might learn something about Detroit.

I noticed the signs on the way out of the city, near Redford, along 96. Tourists are going to be very confused.
