Building ads give color to downtown

I like the ads that have gone up on some of the buildings downtown.

They add a little something to colorless buildings and give the area more life.

I’m not sure if the one below on the Blue Cross building was a paid advertisement or not, but I imagine those like the one for the Pontiac Solstice and the bright-yellow one for Sprint also generate a little bit of money, too, which is an added bonus.

The one advertising Cadillac on Elizabeth across from Comerica Park is the best yet.

Fake walls & windows, with the actual address, and mannequins that take pictures with flash

I’ve seen the Cadillac one a few times already and it was featured on Fox2 news Saturday morning.

I enjoy the ads. The building-sized Solstice ad is a nice way to remind vistors who the Motor City is.

I was just visiting Detroit this weekend and the ads definitely added color. The whole town seemed vibrant and upbeat.

Of course the fact that the temperature was over 50 in January probably had a little to do with it too.

I agree…the city looks great and the full color ads just add to the effect.
