Wings in Turino
The Detroit Pistons aren’t the only pro team in the D with all the right moves. Our beloved Red Wings, who currently lead the league with 81 points, also deserve a round of applause.
Nine Wings players will represent five countries in this year’s Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.
Mathieu Schneider will play for the United States, as will Chris Chelios, who was once again chosen as captain of the US team.
Nicklas Lidstrom, Tomas Holmstrom, Mikael Samuelsson and Henrik Zetterberg will play for Sweden’s Olympic team, while Robert Lang will play for the Czech Republic, and Pavel Datsyuk will play for Russia. Kris Draper will have his first Olympic experience as a forward for Team Canada.
Way to go, Wings!
