Late night

Around 10:30pm last night, the fire alarm sounded in my apartment building due to a fire in the basement laundry room. Despite being 21 stories high, the building was quickly evacuated and DFD quickly contained and extinguished the fire. The Security Staff did an amazing job of keeping the situation orderly and calm.

And the residents all showed concern about each other, whether they knew each other or not. It was everyone’s focus to get everyone out of the building safely. Another reminder of why Detroit’s residents are such great people.

What was the first thing you grabbed when you left your apartment? I bet it was your camera!

Nope, didn’t bring the camera with me. Just my cell phone and keys. I’ve been on enough fire scenes in my life not to need photos.
