The sound of flies frying on a bulb . . .

My sister took me to the 11th Annual Motor City Tatoo Expo this weekend at the Renaissance Center. It was very business-like as it was a trade show; but, I had hoped it would be a little more lively, as it was open to the public. Nonetheless, if it was incredible artistry you were looking for, this was where you would find it. Not one slot was open for drop in tattoos. Bookings were taken months in advance. I did not see one distraught face as people were being adorned by a hundred pinpricks a minute. I am glad to see that Motor City expo was finally brought from the suburbs into the city, but I would suggest a live band next year, and a refreshment stand or two to justify the $20.00 entrance fee.

i was there Saturday evening and the beer (refreshment) stand was open and the rock-a-billy band was starting to play just as i was leaving…which was shortly after all the contest judging wrapped up for the day.

in an unrelated subject: do you still work at Showtime? i was in there on Sunday and spoke with Dan. tell him the Albie’s guy said he’s welcome to drop some fliers or business cards or something in my store if he wants to since we share a lot of the same type of customers.

I do still work there. Thank you for your help. I’ll let Dan know. So, where precisely is Albie’s and what do you sell there?

Perhaps I should not wait until the last day of a trade show to attend :0)

Albie’s is a BMX bike and skateboard shop in Warren. http://WWW.ALBES.COM (if i may be bold as to plug the shop on here) Dan had said that he has heard our name a lot over the years. we’ve been around for a long time and, like Showtime, have a pretty loyal following and we’re the kind of people that like to direct our customers to other stuff they might be into wether it be retail, bars, bands or whatever. we’ve been real fortunate over the years in the area of word of mouth advertising and like to pass it along to others.
