La Pita

Today I did lunch at La Pita Mediterranean Grill. It just opened up on the corner of Putnam and Cass, but the chain has been doing quite well in Dearborn for some time. While it is very cookie cutter and franchise-ish looking on the outside, it is anything but on the inside. It is a very cool two story establishment with some extremely tasty shwarmas. The décor is beautiful, the set up is very urban, and it is outfitted with some sweet plasma TVs which I’m sure get their fair use on game nights. It seems to be a magnet for the trendy young things from campus as well as professionals in the area. I would highly recommend checking it out. I can’t wait to return.

Really? Last time I was there, the wait was ten minutes after ordering and then the food wasn’t so good. Maybe they got some of the kinks out…

The lunch wait was a little long, but the food was well worth it.

Thanks, I was wondering about this place. I’m a student at Wayne State and have not yet had the opportunity to check it out. I’m glad someone gave a heads up.
