Opening Day

Single-game Tiger tickets went on sale today at 10:00 A.M., including for Opening Day on Monday, April 10th. Even though I was logged in to Ticketmaster at 9:30 A.M. and ready to purchase tickets at exactly 10:00 A.M., the best that I could do was two for Pavilion, row K in left center.

The transaction was completed by 10:02 A.M. and out of curiosity, I decided to once again search for the “Best Available” tickets for Opening Day to see if any other sections were available. To my surprise, no tickets were available after 10:02 A.M.!

This may have been the quickest I have ever seen Opening Day sell out. The fact that the Tigers are playing the World Series Champion White Sox likely had something to do with tickets selling out so fast.

Could it really be just over 3 weeks away? I can’t wait until the winter is gone, and the days of summer begin. This should be a much better season than last season, and we have the opportunity to strut our stuff against the World Champions – and this time, our whole lineup will be healthy and in action. (Famous last words, right?)

Player health will be the determining factor in the succssfulness of the season in my opinion. Well, that and the reliability of the bullpen. Opening Day is always exciting to me, partly because the Tigers are tied for 1st place in the league…for a while anyway.
