The few people I know that have had Ikea furniture have expressed concern over quality particularly when they needed to replace a piece of furniture much quicker than normal.

There is always a time in life for IKEA, style does not require an age. IKEA will bring people from all over the state to the metro Detroit area. Yes, IKEA does fit with Metro-Detroit as it has been adding style to other major metropolitan areas around the world. As for outgrowing "cheap" furniture and only associating it with the "just-starting out crew" I think it is highly unfair. The availability of inexpensive attractive items for a home affords a lifestyle to those who may never go on to buy cherry wood furniture, or whatever furniture is associated with the "later in life crew". I will be in the "just-starting out crew" line come June 7th and plan on always having room in my life for put it together yourself furniture.
