Free ride to Chicago and back

If you want to go to Chicago via a bus for free; I just posted on my blog offering the single roundtrip ticket. I bought tickets I can’t use. Hope someone grabs them…

Global Village Collectibles

There is a little treasure trove at 51 Harper Ave. called Global Village Collectibles. It is directly beside the car repair shop on Harper at Woodward. Don’t look for a sign because there isn’t one in sight. You will see what looks like a little hole in the wall with glassware lined up in the front window. The space inside packed from floor to ceiling with anything you could imagine. Be ready to squeeze yourself through narrow passages and to get covered in dust. It is well worth it. (313) 875-4061.

Man Found Dead at Wayne State

Has anyone found a followup to this story? There are so little detail.
Taken from Freep:

A 23-year-old man was found dead Wednesday morning in the Life Science Building at Wayne State University.

The man, whose name was not released, was found by a custodian and is believed to be a student who also held a staff position with the school, investigators said,

There is little indication of foul play, but the case is being handled as a homicide pending an autopsy and further investigation, police said.

WDET cont

There is a great discussion regarding WDET going on in comments of the post from last week. Why not come join the conversation and have your thoughts/feelings heard?

ps. I shut off comments on this thread so direct your WDET comments to the original thread.

A tad bit late

In today’s mail, I had a reminder about the Motor City Makeover. Too bad two of the cleanup dates have already occurred including the one in my neighborhood. Sure seems like a big fat waste of taxpayer money to send out brochures AFTER the event has happened… but then again it is Detroit. Stranger things have happened.

Eastpointe Scandal: What do you think?

I’m sure most people from the area remember seeing Eastpointe make the front page a few times for the school district’s embezzlement scandal. Well it seems the paper did what it does best and tried to open some old wounds.

There was a story today in the Freep about one of the convicts receiving his 20-year gold watch. However, it was not given to him by the school district but the fire department.

The guy stole from us and now he gets an award,” Kathy DiCenzo said. “I was just livid.

What do you think? Do you think this man doesn’t deserve his gift from the city for helping the city for 20 years?

Are You Kidding Me! Pistons shut down, again….

The Detroit Pistons just gave away another Game to the Cleveland Caveliers. What a joke. Flip and Rasheed should be embarassed. Rasheed was clearly hurt and hurt the team more than helped. He turned the ball over, missed shots and watched people drop 3’s over his gray spot.
Can Flip handle the pressure? I think he was afraid to tell Rasheed to sit.
And why the hell was Rip guarding Labron? Tayshaun was handling him just fine. Rip was getting abused.
And why all of a sudden did Flip decide to go one on one basketball instead of running a proven offense?
Tonight Chauncy made it obvious why he did not get any MVP votes. Cause he cant lead his team past a bunch of rag tag, Labron ass sucking bitches.
Wow. I cant even gather my thoughts.
If the Pistons struggle like this against Cleveland how will they look against the powerhouses out west, if they even make it that far!
And just like all the other Detroit Sports fans I will sit through the next game like I sat through the Red WIngs beatings and take it in the ass!
Cant wait for Lions football…….(obvious sarcasm).

So what did you do with your mother for Mother’s Day? Since my mom lives a 1000 miles away, we had a nice bbq for my boyfriend’s family. The weather held out until after we were done eating and playing petanque so it all worked out nicely.

Hopefully you and your mom had a nice day too.
