Day at the Detroit Zoo

Besides the torrential downpours and life threatening lightening my family and I enjoyed a nice day at the zoo. We strategically ducked in and out of different shelters while we made our way around the zoo.
We just renewed our yearly membership and look forward to sharing the Zoo with friends and family from around the state. One thing we did notice was a lack of bears.
First the polar bears were viewable, but they never go in the water. I have been a member for four years and saw them in the water once. It would be nice to see them playing in the water from under the water in the tunnel.
Another bear issue was all the bear exhibits but one in the back are under construction. Where do they keep the bears when their “habitat” is not livable?
It is nice however to see a new exhibit. The Outback Adventure has been added for this upcoming summer. This gives you the opportunity to be up close and personal with Kangaroo. No fence, ditch or glass seperates you and these fun creatures.
I recommened every from near and far to come to the Detroit Zoo and enjoy the adventure.

Did you see the “Hand raised” Kangaroo?

Perhaps they keep the bears in the Real World House?
