Detroit Festival of the Arts – June 9-11
A picture says a thousand words – and this trio of hideous but wonderous creatures roamed the festival – to my delight, and my wife, Denise’s horror they grasped my hand and pulled me along with them for a little way. Their long tongues moved suggestively over the unwitting art perusers, dripping what I could only hope was water upon hapless passersby’s legs and hands (including yours truly).
The sandcastle crafters are there as well, creating a Lewis Carroll (Through the Looking Glass) masterpiece in sand while alongside their space, children can create their own sandbox castles…
Give them a try, parking is relatively easy, with Wayne University structures readily available. Oh yes, and bring some money for the FANTASTIC kettle-corn (or is it Kettle-Korn)… I advise the LARGE bag…
I just walked by those things and they freaked me out. I’ll have nightmares tonight.
I want to MAKE one of those costumes as a mascot for my sports club! They’re lucky it was kinda cool out, because all of that latex would be a sweatbox on a 90 degree day.
