Outdoor Concerts in the City

i’ve been looking forward to when the folks at Campus Martius would update their website so that i could take a gander at what events they have scheduled for the summer… i’ve totally enjoyed just being down there on weekend evenings when they’ve had stuff goin’ on… to my delight, the schedule is up and it seems they’ve got the music and the movies goin’ again, which will be great… but one thing i noticed that bummed me out was that they won’t be having live music on friday nights… it was a great feeling to be in the heart of the city listening to live music…

however, i’d heard rumors of free concerts going on down at the RenCen and sure enough, they’re true… 94.7 WCSX and GM will be putting on a free concert series every friday for the entire summer… this explains why Campus Martius doesn’t have anything scheduled for their friday nights… while i love hangin’ in Campus Martius, this’ll be great pub for the riverfront and that’s definitely a good thing for the city…

TANGENT: i’ve heard conflicting reports about being able walk the riverfront from JLA straight through to the RenCen… so what’s the deal???

anyways, i’ll definitely be checkin’ out the concerts at the riverfront this summer… i’m especially looking forward to seeing Grand Funk Railroad (tomorrow night!) as well as the Romantics… check out the rest of the schedule at WCSX’s site
