Tonight is the annual Freedom Fest fireworks. Last year, I watched from the Book Tower. This year, I am going to watch them from home.
Where is your favorite spot to watch the fireworks?
I plan to watch them from the window of my midtown apartment, which faces towards downtown. This is my first year, so I hope I’m close enough and the Comerica tower doesn’t block my view.
i was contemplating watching them from midtown… while it’s only a mile or two, i’m wondering if the distance will change anything…
During last year’s fireworks, I was in Comerica Park watching the Tigers play the White Sox. The game went into extra innings, so we had a great skyline view of the fireworks looking out the right field side of the park. It would have been a very picturesque moment to hit a walk off home run, as I’d imagine that the cameras from the press would have been able to have a spectacular shot with the fireworks in the backdrop. Unfortunately, the White Sox won the game in 13 innings, but the game was long enough where we were able to see the entire duration of the fireworks from the ballpark.
