Early dinner at Twingo’s
My husband and I love finding new haunts in the city, so we have a standing date every other week at a Detroit restaurant where one or both of us has ever had a meal.
Last week, our spot of choice was Twingo’s Euro Cafe on Cass in Midtown; it was my first time there and his third, but he’d only been there for drinks on previous occasions.
I really enjoyed the funky, eclectic restaurant – the service was great, the turkey sandwich I had was excellent, and my husband, who had a plain old burger, said it was the most “real hamburger” he’s had in a long time (I don’t eat red meat so I’m not totally sure what he meant by that, but I’m guessing some of you might).
Besides sandwiches, Twingo’s also has a variety of appetizers, salads, soups and entrees, most of which are European-inspired. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner; prices are moderate.
I really liked the ambiance at Twingo’s – the interior design is well-done and comfortable. It’s the kind of place you have a meal before a show or just to meet up with a group of friends for a round of drinks.
Bottom-line consensus: we both agree we would definitely eat here again.
I live right down the street but have never been to twingos. Friday, my girlfriend and I hit up Pizzapapalis in Greektown. You can’t beat the $5.50 pitcher of Miller Lite.
You also can’t beat that pizza.
