The Tigers keep on surprising

At this time last year, I could have never imagined that my post topic for today would be about the Detroit Tigers reaching the 60-win mark. I don’t think too many other people would have foreseen the Tigers having 60 wins in July ’06, either.

But they gave all of us a big surprise yesterday when they beat-out the Royals
6-4 at home and did just that.

Thanks in major part to five hits in the fifth inning and a homer by Pudge in the fourth, the Detroit’s record now stands at an unbelievable 60-29; something I wasn’t sure I’d see in my lifetime, let alone this year.

Like anyone else, I don’t enjoy being dead-wrong about things, but in this case I’ll take it all day – or, perhaps I should say season – long.

Way to go, Tigers!

The benefit the Tigers are having on the city is amazing!! Last night, I went to grab some food at Mexican Town Restaurant and the place was packed with Tigers fans (waiting for the rain to let up)!

Mexicantown isn’t even close to Comerica and was packed because of it!
