Be Cool

As Baliad and Mgal noted previously today, it’s HOT in Detroit. According to Wunderground, temps are hovering around the 91 degree mark in and around the D, and though it’s going to get a little cooler tomorrow – forecasted temps are around 85 degrees – it looks like we’ll jump back up to 89- and 90-degree temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday.

Temps like these can be dangerous to your health, so it’s important to stay hydrated and try to stay cool. If you’re without A/C, you’re in luck — eleven branches of the Detroit Public Library are doubling as cooling centers. For hours and participating branches, please click here.

It’s too bad they couldn’t extend the hours at the Main Branch. The hours are miserable, they’re not even open on Sundays or Mondays!
