Then consider entering the Great Detroit Photo Contest ^[1] put on by the Detroit News ^[2], WWJ ^[3] and WXYZ-Channel 7 ^[4].

The top weekly shots in each of the contest’s four categories – Landscapes and Nature; Landmarks and buildings; People enjoying the summer; and Take WWJ on Vacation – come with some pretty nifty prizes, like gift certificates, camera equipment, overnight get-aways and more. This week’s winners get a $25 gift certificate to Hite Photo, a $100 gift certificate to Hagopian Wolrd of Rugs; a Panasonic digital camera from ABC Warehouse, and a four-pack of tickets to the Buick Open.

Weekly entries must be received by 5 pm EST on the Friday before the contest week in which the participant is entering.
