Guillen Hits for the Cycle

If you didn’t watch or listen to last night’s ballgame, you missed one for the record books. Two of our newest Tiger’s came out with flying colors. Sean Casey, just traded from the Pittsburg Pirates hit a homerun his first day on the field as a Tiger. Clevlen, just promoted from the minors this weekend managed to hit his first two homeruns in the majors.

Verlander stayed in for 7 giving him his 14th win of the season at the top of the league.

And if that wasn’t enough, Carlos Guillen hit for the cycle. For those who don’t know, hitting for the cycle is when you manage a single, double, triple and homerun all in one game. It doesn’t happen often and the Tampa Bay crowd knew it. When Guillen made his double to complete the cycle, the crowd went wild, leaping to their feet and cheering at the top of their lungs.

Guillen is the 3rd tiger to achieve this in the past 55 years and on a short list of about 10 Tigers for all-time.

Tonight, the Tigers play game 3 of 4 in Tampa at 7:15. Be sure not to miss it.
