Food Network is Coming to Detroit

Being both a foodie and a jazz lover, I couldn’t help but become ecstatic over the fact that Food Network will be at this year’s Detroit Jazz Fest. On September 2nd and 3rd Detroit will be hosting a Food Network Challenge Pastry contest. It will be filmed live. Also, FN will have a bar setup with bartender flair experts doing demonstrations. The bar will also host an amateur flair challenge where you are paired up with one of the experts.

I can’t wait!

Food Network is also having a sweepstakes for a chance to win air, lodging, and transportation to Detroit for the weekend. (how often do you see a grand prize trip to Detroit?) So if you want to spend the weekend 2 minutes away or know an out-of-town friend, sign up.

maybe they’ll try to make it a “real Detroit experience” and fly the winner into City Airport, take a drive down 8 Mile & book them at the Hotel Yorba. that place can’t be too bad…the White Stripes had a hit song based on the place…right?

Not only do I enjoy listening to jazz (Detroit JazzStage is a great podcast!), but I watch the Food Network all the time. I don’t know why, I mean, I never cook anything, but that’s pretty awesome.
