Dream Cruise: love it or hate it

As observer_mike mentioned earlier this week, the Woodward Dream Cruise – set for Saturday, August 18 – is coming up quick.

Metro Detroiters seem to be pretty split on their opinions of the Dream Cruise – either you love it and attend it, or you hate it and avoid it at all costs.

How do you feel about the Woodward Dream Cruise? Will you be camping out at Duggan’s this week to get a prime viewing spot or will you stay holed up in your house until the cars cruise away?

i love it, but simply because it’s something unique to michigan and it’s good for the region… the traffic it brings it brings is horrendous, but you gotta give something if you’re get something…

Cruising did not happen too far south into Detroit, barely hitting 6 Mile at Ted’s on the Park. The northern most spot was Ted’s on the Boulevard. You went to the burbs because it was not as cramped on the road.

I do not mind the event at all. I am whoreing one of my cars out to a manufacturers display this year.

and i heard on 89X that they’re gonna be at the cruise this weekend promoting some new energy drink, Freek or something.

I saw some billboards up for this new freek drink around the city and 89x is my fav station so I think i’m gonna stop and check it out!!

Everybody seems to be on the “love it” side, so I’ll bite.

When I was younger, I loved the cruise. Nowadays, I find myself avoiding it at all costs. Kind of on the side of SD. I’m glad to have it, but I no longer attend it.

This weekend I was to help put together a wedding party. The bride wanted to go bar-hopping in RO, but I dread the over-populated bars this weekend. I’m trying to convince them to go downtown. The Well, Old Shillelagh and Deluxe are having a block party.
