As far as I’m concerned any list of authors from Detroit or influenced by Detroit *HAS* to include Jeffrey Eugenides. In my mind, he wrote the book on 20th century Detroit – Middlesex. He had some success with the Virgin Suicides as well, which takes place in the Grosse Pointes.
I was wondering about that oversight as well.
