Thai Food for Midtown
just got back from Bangkok Cuisine Express II over on Woodward between Willis and Canfield… it was a great meal!!! we got some veggie rolls, Pad Thai and some bubble tea… the veggie rolls were like oversized spring rolls and had a great sweet sauce with crushed peanuts… my wife felt they were the best part of the meal… the Pad Thai was excellent as well… Pad Thai is an essential at any Thai restuarant and i figure that if the Pad Thai is good at a Thai restuarant, the rest of the food will be good too… well, the Pad Thai was very very good… good sized noodles, had good color and was only $7.95 (the “king” portion which feeds about 2-3) which is a pretty good deal… unfortunately, the bubble tea was mediocre at best, but that’s not really any Thai restaurant’s forte… here’s an added bonus though: the customer service was excellent!!! the person at the counter was courteous and quick and we even got to talk to the owner/manager who was very personable…
lots of people rave about Rexy’s Bangkok Cuisine up in Royal Oak… if you love that place, you’ll love this place… same owners, same recipes (though the menu is not as extensive) just in Midtown Detroit!!!
Word on the street is that Sala Thai (at Eastern Market) is the best Thai in the general downtown vicinity.
Thank you for this. I just walked by and was wondering if anyone had tried it as yet.
