The County Steps in on Run Down Buildings

an article in the News talks about how Wayne County is suing owners of dilapidated buildings for violating nuisance and safety laws… if the owners fail to comply or don’t respond demands, the county then seizes the property and sells it for an extremely cheap price to others who “pledge” to fix that property up… interested in fixing a property up??? check out: www.waynecounty.com/WCauctions

i like the idea, though it seems there are a few rough edges to smooth out in how the county is conducting this business… check out the article for those and other details… personally, i’m just glad Wayne County is taking the initiative here and not the City of Detroit… the City is often lax in regards to things like this and Wayne County needs to realize that it needs Detroit to thrive in order for the county itself to thrive as well…
