Coup d’etat in Thailand

If you have yet to see or read any world news today, you probably aren’t aware of what’s been going on in Thailand.

Earlier today, the Royal Thai Army staged a coup d’etat against the government of Thailand’s Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Thaksin was attending a United Nations conference in New York at the time.

Metrobloggers in Bangkok have been covering the incident first-hand since it began and have reported that some of the accounts made by worldwide media outlets have been overblown or incorrect.
