Note that Oak Hill *is* a tiny suburb of Nashville but it's a ten minute drive from downtown. What I'm saying is that Oak Hill is Nashville proper, and while no Detroit, does have a total population of half a million. BTW, I've counted, and Jack lives six houses away from me (I'm on a side street so don't be thinking I paid $3 million for my home!).

I don't know him personally, but with a public figure like White, I have read enough and seen enough of his actions to gather clues that point to his personality. In my opinion, they point to someone that is eccentric.

As far as moving away from Detroit, White can do whatever he wants. I was just making an observation that he has moved somewhere radically different. If you'll note from the post, I did not say 'Anyone want to place bets on how long before White moves back to Detroit'. I said anyone want to place bets on how long he lasts in his new super-small town.

Unlike some other Detroiters, I am not upset with White moving away. It happens.

Unless you know Jack personally, it's hard to say you know much about his personality, and you are correct that where he is now is nothing like Detroit. That is both good and bad though. Sure, he is from Detroit and that is where his inspiration came from, and it's sad to see him treat his hometown the way he handled it, but also seeing that he is now a Father, why should he not want to provide a safer enviroment for his child? We all obviously know that Detroit is not the safest place to raise a child, and although things are getting better within the city, it will be many, many years until we see big changes.

I have moved away from Detroit and seen the beauty that this world has to offer, and to live a full life, we cannot confine ourselves to one little section of the world. Being back in Detroit now while our current changes are taking place has been great to see, but I only have one life to live and experience all of what it has to offer.
