Detroit: Port of Call
The Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority is working with the visitor’s bureau and other organizations to showcase Detroit as a potential port of call for Great Lakes cruise ships.
As the mayor and the Downtown Detroit Partnership were announcing the return of the Grand Prix to Belle Ile in September 2007 last week, six cruise ship representatives were meeting with the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Although no decision has been made yet, like Christmas, it’s coming. With the success of SBXL, the All Star Game, upcoming events like the Final Four and the Grand Prix, the travel industry is beginning to see what we’ve known all along. Welcome aboard!
I am really glad to hear this. Just a couple of weeks ago I was really excited to see a cruise ship docked in Windsor.
