Promoting the Tigs
As area media draw comparisons between the 2005 All Star Game and Super Bowl XL in Detroit and now the World Series coming to the D, I have to wonder whether GM has a Tiger-themed window decoration up its sleeve for the RenCen next week and the week after.
Right now, the windows have a few ads touting GM’s new 100,000 mile warranty, but I think it would be cool if they changed them to something having to do with the Tigers. Something like ‘Detroit loves the Tigers’ or ‘Division Champs’ (obviously I do not have a creative bone in my body, but you get the idea).
Just a thought, but I’d also love to see the Verizon “Can you hear me now?” guy removed from the Broderick and replaced with something to pump up the Tigs, especially since that ad-space is so visible from inside the stadium. It doesn’t need to be anything in depth or complex – something as simple as a navy blue background with a white Olde English D would be cool and a nice thing to do for the team. If Verizon changed the ad to the Olde English D and just put its name somewhere prominent but small enough not to be tacky, they would probably sell more products than they would with the current ad.
Spotlights.
I hope they put the spotlights back on the smaller towers. That was so badass. I had just moved into my apartment back then and the place was lit up while they were testing the spotlights and shining them directly in my window.
