It never ceases to amaze me the amount of things going on in Detroit at any given time.
Today, while browsing through some news stories, I came upon this article about the Motor City Squash Open, which is being held in Detroit as we speak.

that’s one of the problems i’ve always thought needed to be changed in the city. the news and daily buzz is so filled with either negative info such as crime and poverty or when they report on the positive it’s all real surface/main stream stuff like hockey or the auto show, as examples. if Detroit was seen as a little more “worldly” with interests besides cars, core sports and murder maybe the image wouldn’t be so bad.
I was beginning to think that Squash was a figment of my Canadian consciousness. In my last year of undergrad my roommate and I belonged to the Squash club on campus. Since I’ve been back in the States people look at me funny if I mention the game. I have to quickly recover and mention Raquetball to save myself.
